LookBook: Alainé By Celine Introduces Us To A Collection That Bridge Cultural Divides

Ready-To-Wear brand Alainé by Celine recently released its new collection named Virgo includes pieces which put a new spin on the traditional Nigerian womenswear classic, the iro, and buba. Photographed by Tope Adenola, modeling and makeup by Anita Adetoye and with creative direction from Celine Ifedayo, the brand latest lookbook spotlights how it channeled its passion for the richness of African fabrics and styles into creating a collection that bridge the cultural divide between western styles and Nigerian traditional dress. The focus of the range is its faux wrapper: skirts and dresses sewn to give the illusion of an iro, without the hassle of tying a traditional one. It is a fusion of Western and Nigerian styles, including a mix of Ankara, crêpe, organza and striped shirts. Taking its inspiration from Nigerian women and their different personalities, the brand seeks to provide women with pieces for every mood: from simple and elegant, to sexy and fierce and everything that embodies the Alainé woman.Photo Credit: Alainé by Celine
