Mohammed Fawehinmi, the first son of the late Human Rights lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi has also passed on to the great beyond at the age of 52 after a brief illness.

Born 52 years ago, Mohammed bagged a law degree from the University of Buckingham, England and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1998. In 2003, he had a terrible accident in Lagos, which affected his spinal cord and confined him to a wheelchair. He was said to have woken up complaining of breathing difficulties and was rushed to the hospital where he died. The PUNCH reported that an anonymous close family source, who preferred not to be named, confirmed his death to its correspondent, noting however, that they are not disclosing the news to his mother yet.

“We are trying our best not to let his mother hear about the death yet because it may worsen her sickness”, the source reportedly said, noting further that the remains of the deceased had been deposited in a morgue in Lagos.
