Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode Signs 2018 Appropriation Bill Into Law

Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode signed the 2018 Appropriation Bill of the State into law today, February 26, at the Lagos House, with a total budget of N1.04trillion. This is coming barely a month after members of the Lagos State House Of Assembly passed the appropriation bill for the governor’s consent.
N347, 038, 938, 872.00 of the budget is to be funded from the Consolidated Revenue Fund, and N699, 082, 242,808.00 from the Development Fund which is for both the capital and recurrent expenditure for the year ending 31st December, 2018.
The Consolidated Transport Sector Bill and the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission Bill was signed by the Governor too.
The Transport Sector Law 2018 makes provision for the development and management of a sustainable transport system and maintenance of transport infrastructure and facilities within the state.
The Teaching Service commission Bill makes provision for the control and management of teaching services and provide effective management of post-primary school in the State.
While presenting the bill, Ambode, stated that his administration would make every effort to complete all ongoing projects. He also said that the budget themed “Budget of Progress and Development”, will be use to continue other achievement recorded in security, health sector, transportation, infrastructure and education sectors.
