Kemi Adetiba Makes Netflix List Of 55 Solid Women In Entertainment

King of Boys’ director, Kemi Adetiba, has been named  among 55 of women making legendary move in the entertainment industry. The list is a joint effort between Netflix and UN women.

This is coming after the movie site giant, Netflix launched its “Because She watched” a special Netflix collection of series, documentaries and films to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The collection which is handled by female directors from all over the world will feature big names in the industry from across thw owirld including Sophia Loren, Salma Hayek, Yalitza Aparicio, Millie Bobby Brown, Laurie Nunn, Lana Condor, Petra Costa and Ava DuVernay.

Speaking, UN Women Deputy Executive Director, Anita Bhatia said “This collaboration is about taking on the challenge of telling women’s stories and showing women in all their diversity.

It’s about making visible the invisible, and proving that only by fully representing and including women on screen, behind the camera and in our narratives overall, society will truly flourish.”
With the International Women’s Day drawing near and the official theme for this year being  “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights”, we can only hope that the conversation on gender progresses to a better level.
