Kano Begs FG To Relax Curfew As ‘People Are Running Out Of Foodstuffs’

Governor Ganduje of Kano State has disclosed that he would seek the permission of the Federal Government to relax the curfew imposed on the nation despite the fast spread of Coronavirus in the state within a month and the number of deaths recorded already.
Ganduje made this known during the inauguration of a panel of experts led by the President of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria Musa Borodo, into the Kano Sate COVID-19 Task ForceKano Begs FG To Relax Lockdown As 'People Are Running Out Of Foodstuffs'
According to him, the relaxation is need to enable people stock up their homes with food, especially as they are observing the annual Ramadan fast. He added that the relaxation will also ease the economic hardship in the state.

We would engage the presidential task force on COVID-19 to seek permission to relax the total lockdown imposed on Kano. We are making this appeal on behalf of our people who are presently running out of food items. We would love the federal government to relax the lockdown for a period of time to enable people stock their homes, especially now that majority of us are fasting. It will also ease the economic hardship in the state“, he said.
