Just In: Court Suspends Uche Secondus As PDP National Chair

As the leadership crisis currently rocking the major opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP persisted, things took a worse turn today Monday as a High Court in Rivers State has suspended Prince Uche Secondus as the Chairman and asked him to refrain from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.

The order, as given by Justice O. Gbasam of the State High Court sitting in Degema Local government Area of the State, is coming a few days after the Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West at the NASS, Seriake Dickson said only a National Convention can remove embattled Uche Secondus.JUST IN: Court Suspends Uche Secondus As PDP National ChairNot only was Uche Secondus suspended from being the National Chairman of the party but the judge also approved the suspension of Secondus as a member of the party pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
The order followed a complaint brought before the court by some aggrieved members of the party.

The suit No: PHC/2183/CS/2021 filed by Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen and Umezirike Onucha against Uche Secondus (1st defendant) and the PDP (2nd defendant).
The judge made the pronouncement after reading the affidavit in support of the motion of ex parte and after hearing the submission of H.A. Bello, Counsel to the Applicants.“An order restraining the 1st Defendant from parading himself as member of the 2nd Defendant or the National Chairman of the Defendant or performing the functions of national chairman of the 2nd defendant or calling, attending or presiding over any meeting of the 2nd defendant or any committee of the 2nd defendant at the Ward, Local Government or State level or calling for any Ward, Local Government or State Congress of the 2nd defendant or setting up committees for such Congresses or participating in any activity of the 2nd defendant whatsoever whilst on suspension as a member of the 2nd defendant pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction”, the court order reads.
