Israel-Iran: G7 To Hold Meeting On Attacks This Afternoon

The G7 will hold a meeting over telephone mid-afternoon.

The leaders of the Group of Seven major economies are expected to discuss Iran’s attack.

The G7 is made up of the United States, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, with representatives from the European Union also attending.

Italy currently holds the rotating presidency.

The group was originally set up in 1973 to discuss potential solutions to global economic and financial problems, such as oil crises, before being expanded to include political issues in the 1980s.
