“I Would Like To See Kids Talk About Us In 20 Years” – Rakitic Charge His Teammates To Make History

Barcelona playmaker, Ivan Rakitic charged his teammates to leave their print in the sands of time after defeating Denmark in the knockout stage of the 2018 FIFA world cup.

The Barcelona star scored the most important goal for Croatia on Sunday night, as they defeated Denmark 3-2 on penalties in the FIFA world cup.

Speaking in an interview with FIFA.com after the match, Rakitic said: “As I was preparing for this last penalty, I was thinking only about my wife and my daughters. She told me I would be the one who would decide it in the end. This was one of the most emotional games in my career so far…The France 1998 generation were our idols. They showed us the way we should go, but now we have to forget them. This must not be pressure, we have to enjoy this World Cup. I would like to see kids talk about us in 20 years.”
