Heung-Min Son To Play In Asian Games As Tottenham Offers Their Full Support

Heung-Min Son may be exempted from South Korea military service!

Tottenham have agreed to let  Heung-Min Son represent South korea in the upcoming Asian games in Indonesia where a gold medal is likely to win him exemption from military service and in the process missing the opening matches of the premier league, the Korea Football Association confirmed.son1
There are precedents for footballers being granted exemptions from South Korea’s 21-month military service, as in the case in 2002, when the national team reached the World Cup semi-finals, and in 2014, when they won gold at the Asian Games in Incheon. However Son was not part of that team as his club refuse to release him. Son apologised to the Tottenham team mates and manager in his statement released after the Ac Milan Match. “I feel sorry because Tottenham is my team and I feel very sorry for my team-mates and coaching staff. But I am playing for my country and that is also important. But honestly I feel very sorry about that. That is what I feel.”
