‘He Smeared Poo Over Embassy Walls’- Ecuador Minister Reveals More Insight Into Julian Assange’s Stay In Ecuador

News of the arrest of Wikileaks owner, Julian Assange, 47, has been all over the internet after he was extradited from Ecuador where he sought asylum. The minister of Interior in Ecuador has shared that while he stayed with them at the embassy, he was discourteous and rubbed poo all over embassy walls. Julian stayed in Ecuador for seven years before the law finally caught up with him. He was dragged out screaming of the Knightsbridge residence after his asylum status was withdrawn. Julian who sought asylum in Ecuador during the government of Rafael Correa seems to have had his backing as the later was not pleased with his arrest. Correa accused the now Ecuador President, Lenin Moreno of being a traitor. The interior minister, Maria Paula would however not be having any of the accusations as she hit back at Correa saying that: “During his stay at the Ecuadorian Embassy, during the government of the former president Rafael Correa, they tolerated things like Mr Assange putting faeces on the walls of the embassy and other types of behaviour of this kind that is far removed from the minimum respect a guest should have in a country which has generously welcomed him.”Photo Credit: Getty
