Harry Maguire Blasts His Man Utd Teammates After Bournemouth Defeat

Harry Maguire was critical of Manchester United’s attacking play during their costly 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side arrived on the south coast in buoyant mood on the back of three successive victories but were brought crashing back down to earth at the Vitality Stadium.

Josh King, a former United player, settled the contest with a well-taken goal on the stroke of half-time and the visitors were unable to muster a response after the interval.

SubstituteMason Greenwood struck the post from close range, while Scott McTominay tested Aaron Ramsdal from distance but Bournemouth held out comfortably in the end.

‘[We are] disappointed,’ Maguire told MUTV afterwards. We conceded at an awful time at a stage where we started the game really well. The first 20 minutes we were well on top, we have got to score in that period, with numerous chances. The quality in the final third wasn’t good enough to create a real clear cut chance, then they came into the game at the end of the first-half and it is an awful time to concede just before half-time, it is probably the worst.’

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial impressed in last week’s 3-1 win over Norwich but Solskjaer admitted the duo, along with Daniel James, flattered to deceive against Bournemouth.
