France 1-0 Peru: Kylian Mbappe Set French Record As Peru Crash Out

Les Bleus qualified for the knockout stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup courtesy of Kylian Mbappe’s 34th minute strike.
The 19-year-old PSG forward became the youngest player to score for France at a World Cup when he ran onto Olivier Giroud’s deflected shot to slot the ball into an empty net.

The match turned out to be a devastating blow for Peru after a strong start failed to produce a breakthrough. The South American fans outnumbered the French in the stadium and their team made good use of the motivation they received from their fans to pressurize France from all corners.
Peru striker Paolo Guerrero had the best chance for Peru in the 31st after collecting a pass from Christian Cueva but France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris saved his low shot from close range.
