The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has sacked Prof. Richard Akindele for allegedly demanding sex from a student, Monica Osagie, to upgrade her mark.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, announced Professor Richard’s immediate dismissal at a press conference in Ile-Ife on Wednesday.
He said the Governing Council of the institution sacked the lecturer, “having found him guilty of all the charges levied against him.”
Professor Akindele was captured in an audio mobile conversation, demanding five rounds of sex from a female student in his department before he would upgrade her mark from 33 to a pass mark.
