Farfan Gets Injured In Training, To Miss Peru’s Last Match!

Peru forward, Jefferson Farfan will remain in the hospital when his team plays Australia in their final World Cup group game against on Tuesday.

The Lokomotiv Moscow player took to Instagram on Monday (June 25) to share the sad news, writing: “I would die to be with my team-mates this last game, but according to medical recommendations it is impossible, I can only support my team-mates and the coaching staff from the clinic.”

Farfan suffered a concussion when he collided with under-20 goalkeeper Jeremy Aguirre during Peru’s Saturday training and has been in the hospital since then. Although, team doctors have confirmed 33-year-old is in a stable condition. “The most important thing is that he will recover,” coach Ricardo Gareca said Monday. Peru have already been knocked out of the tournaments in Russia, after defeats to France and Denmark.
