Where Exactly Did Antonio Conte Get It All Wrong?

He arrived Stamford bridge after achieving the impossible with a lackluster Italian National team. He single-handedly orchestrated Juventus return to supremacy after taking over the team in one of its worst state in history. He stunned the EPL world by breaking a longstanding club record to guide Chelsea to national supremacy once again after taking over a poor and destabilized team, but now, this unstoppable Italian genius now stares dumbfoundedly at the top-of-the league position that he commanded with his exquisite 3-4-3 formation last season.
He recorded his first win a very long while few days ago after watching his team record three goalless draws in a row. Though he seemed prepared to defend the title at the start of the league, he is now 15 points away from bringing that dream to limelight. This begs the question: Where did it all go wrong for Conte? When did his ruthless attacking fleet become a toothless bulldog to even the most inferior defenses? When did his impenetrable midfield become a walk in the park for his opponents?
The answer to these questions is not far fetched form the changes he made to the team between last season and now. He loaned out a young and promising Kurt Zouma, in a world where Cahill has a long-standing record of unreasonable errors. He failed to secure a quality wing-back to provide some sort of competition for the likes of Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso. He sold the irreplaceable Nemanja Matic to one of his biggest rivals and finally, he discarded the closest thing he had to Drogba (Diego Costa), for a player that is yet to score 26 goals in single season (Alvaro Morata).
Though Conte all fingers will point at Conte for the unreasonable transfer decisions so far, the management of Chelsea are the underlying problem that has been plaguing the Italian genius so far. They dally around till the last transfer minute before launching any form of much needed transfer. they spend huge amount of money on mediocre players, then force the coach to use the appalling resources on ground. They are always quick to “axe” the manager in a bid to cover up their disgusting decisions, and until a wind of change whisk this annoying board away, Chelsea’s recurrent decisions are here to stay.
