The Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN has summoned her members for an emergency following the criticism that greeted the appointment of Elisha Abbo as Patron of the North East branch of the association.
Actress Kate Henshaw had called out the AGN National President Emeka Rollas about the appointment on Twitter, noting that Elisha Abbo is not worthy of the enlistment. She added that she is concerned, especially about the female members of the association, as they are not ready to be slapped.
Taking heed to the call, the association, through her National PRO, Monalisa Chinda sent out a press release to call her members to an emergency meeting where the appointment and other important issues will be discussed. In view of this, the National President, Mr Emeka Rollas Ejezieh, has called for a general meeting of stakeholders on Monday 23/03/2020 at Natives Restaurant and Lounge, Ojo Ologbun Close , off Idejo street , Victoria Island Lagos. Time: 11am. The object of this meeting is essentially to tackle this issue and other relevant matters relating to the AGN and its quest to improve the welfare of members. However, a committee has been set up to look immediately into the complaints and indeed grievances of members and make urgent recommendations to the National Executive Committee for immediate action. We urge our teeming members and in particular those that have expressed strong reservations about this subject in issue to please desist from further comments on social media and join other stakeholders at a professional table of brotherhood on Monday as we collectively engage in a dialogue of hope, unity and harmony in our AGN.
