The federal government today announced that it would be postponing the National sports festival meant to take place in Edo state over the outbreak of coronavirus. The announcement was made today by the minister for sports Mr Sunday Dare via his Twitter handle.
According to the minister this was a precautionary move to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. “Following the briefing of Mr. President from myself and the Minister of State for Health on COVID 19, Mr. President approved the immediate postponement of Edo Sports festival to a future date,” he said in a series of tweets.
