Omo-Agege Seeks More Funding For NDLEA To Tackle Drug Abuse

The Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Ovie Omo-Agege has requested for an increase in the funding of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) so as to effectively tackle drug abuse in Nigeria.

He spoke about the issue when he hosted two associations in Abuja: League for Societal Protection Against Drug and Sexual Abuse in Nigeria and The Youth and Poor Association of Nigeria which was led by Ambassador Mariam Hassan.

The DSP also emphasized on the need for the funding as there is a wide spread of drug abuse among Nigerian youths. He also said more rehabilitation centers will be built to aide recovery of addicts.

In addition, the Delta lawmaker showed much concern over this growing trend and craved the indulgence of those concerned to make the appropriate moves.
