Diego Costa Given 6-Month Prison Sentence, £482k Fine Over Tax Fraud

Spanish star, Diego Costa on Thursday, June 4, 2020, appeared in court to face the tax fraud levelled against him by Spanish prosecutors.

Diego CostaReports state that the Atletico Madrid striker was given a six-month prison sentence, which he will not serve, and a total fine of €543,000 (£482,000).

An Atletico Madrid spokesman, on Wednesday said, “Diego Costa reached an agreement a few months ago with the prosecutor and has already paid the corresponding fine plus interest and the request for a prison sentence was withdrawn.

“This week it is expected that agreement will be ratified in court, as is mandatory.”
