American boxer Deontay Wilder has confirmed his fight with Nigeria’s Anthony Joshua in April WON’T happen… with AJ facing Dillian Whyte instead. The American boxer, 32, has revealed he knows the British star will take on Whyte on April 13 and says he’s done playing games.Wilder revealed Eddie Hearn mentioned Whyte as an opponent for AJ was the final straw. The US ace said: “We’re not going to get that. He [Hearn] slipped up when he said Dillian Whyte, we all know that’s what it’s all lead up too. He’s [Joshua] going to face Dillian Whyte, April the 13th – it’s going to be Dillian Whyte. Dillian Whyte knows that as well too. They’re definitely fighting, I’m not in the plans, Eddie Hearn has already said enough, how much have we got to go on with this. What more proof do you need, we already know what’s going on, I’m not fighting April 13.” Wilder went on to say it’s not that he doesn’t want to fight Joshua… it’s that he won’t be given the chance. The American added: “Trust me it’s not because I don’t want to it’s because it ain’t going to happen, they ain’t going to do the right thing. They know what I want, we can up the offer and all that, you know what I want, if it ain’t the right offer – there ain’t no offer. Look how he already contradicting himself – he [Hearn] wanted to get the fight done before December 1st and now he saying there ain’t no deadline, come on man, stop playing games. We not playing these games, I’m not doing it no more, I’m not, I don’t care how many times people ask, how much they want this fight, we tried, I can’t do nothing else. They don’t want to come straight with it, then there ain’t going to be no fight. I guess that worked in their favour.”Wilder concluded by saying people can’t ever consider AJ to be the best-ever after avoiding him. He said: “But s*, he [Joshua] can never say he was the best, because there will always be someone by the name of Deontay Wilder lingering around. People will always say you never fought him when you had the opportunity. Wilder defends his WBC heavyweight crown on December 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles against the lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.Photo Credit: Getty
