COVID-19: South Africa Case Toll Surpasses One Million

South Africa has has recorded one million cases of COVID-19 after 9,502 new infections were announced on Sunday night. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize confirmed that the total number of people who have been infected with the virus now stands at 1,004,413.

COVID-19: South Africa Case Toll Surpasses One Million
Mkhize added that a further 214 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities to 26,735.  Mkhize said the new figures indicate that the country is experiencing a second wave of the pandemic and government would need to consider further restrictions.
