Coronavirus Time Was Really A Great Time For Me – Samuel Suh

To many, the lockdown period was a time of struggle but to people like South African singer Samuel Suh, it was a time of development, self growth and plenty inspiration as though, his business was not booming so much, he learnt how not to put one’s eggs all in one basket, and recorded many songs.
In the recent chat he had with Adenike Sobo of KOKO TV, Samuel Suh spoke on how music began for him, his track as 1 Zeal, a dance hall and reggae singer, his retraction back to sing about his creator and becoming a gospel artiste, losing his mom at 16, his wish for gospel songs reach and many more.
When asked how he faired and coped during the lockdown, the Cameroon-born Samuel Suh said, “For some reasons, I’m sure God knows how he does things, but I feel like this Coronavirus period was actually a great time for me. You know, like, most of the songs that I got inspirations to write, I got it during the Corona time. Also, I felt like it was a time for me to think about my own life and think about the next steps I need to take. Even though it was not so smooth, God always knows the way to make.
It wasn’t really that bad time, you know, because things on my side, were just opening up. So I feel like sometimes, God also likes to make us know, it’s not really about the economic situation, that he can make things happen. Like, no matter the situation, I can make things happen. It was a very creative time for me, I got a lot of inspiration to record more and to write more. So to me, it wasn’t a bad time.  I felt like it wasn’t it wasn’t a bad time at all.”
On finances, Samuel Suh said his business didn’t move well but then, there was always a solution before things went bad. “Yeah, on finances, there was a bit of a strain, because I also have a shop in South Africa. It’s like more fashion, we sell African, wears and so. During that time, the business wasn’t really moving the way we expected but there were other doors opening that we know how to balance things. I don’t think there was a day where I felt like Yo, it’s bad, bad, bad. No, it didn’t really feel like that.

“It was before the plane was about to crash, there was a solution to make it go back up. It also taught me that is not really good to focus a lot and put your things in one basket, you know, it taught me how to properly diversify my thinking and probably how I’m gonna make ends meet in different ways. So I felt like it was a time of growth to me personally”, he concluded.
