Social commentator and self-acclaimed Buhari Tormentor, Reno Omokri has stated that biblically, only virgin women should have bride price paid over then.
In a tweet which had now become a subject of controversy, the former aide to Goodluck Jonathan enthused that this was the way it was stated in the bible.
He explained that non-virgins do not need to have bride price or anything of such paid over them.

“What I am going to say will shock people. Scripturally, Bride Price is ONLY paid for virgins. Don’t argue with me. Argue with God. See Exodus 22:16-17. By virtue of Scripture (and also in traditional African society), you pay no Bride Price for non Virgin.”
