Hot Gist! Fatoyinbo Finally Arrested As Police Explains Why The Arrest Took This Long

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, has finally been arrested by the Nigerian police and is currently being interrogated at Police Force CID Headquarters in Abuja.

This came after singer Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola Dakolo alleged that the pastor raped her repeatedly at the age of 17. In her interview, Dakolo narrated how the pastor lured her and made his way with her to which Fatoyinbo denied severally saying Busola and other women were trying to extort his money. However, the pastor was finally called in for questioning by a team of 4 led by Asst Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche Anya. Reacting to the arrest, many Nigerians wondered why it took the police this long to arrest the pastor and to this, the Nigerian police through their spokesperson, Frank Mba revealed why they had to delay his arrest. Mba who shared with Punch confirmed that Biodun Fatoyinbo was in their custody, as he added that the police wanted to get statements from several witnesses so they could build a solid case before inviting him. He said: “We have done a whole lot of background investigations and spoken to a whole lot of people before now. It was a deliberate investigative procedure to bring him last. Although we may invite others later depending on how investigations go. We were not in a hurry to bring him because we wanted to have enough background information that would be used in interrogating him. We have done an extensive investigation.”
