Journalist Betty Irabor has opened up on her battle with depression and mental health amidst the ongoing increase in the suicide rate in society. The magazine editor took to her Twitter page in a lengthy thread to speak on it detailing her encounter with a doctor in a psychiatric department in Dubai.

She shared how in the past she was being shamed or stigmatized but she was in a country where no one knew her. The mother of 2 revealed that she had a collection of Anti-depressants and had also started to self-medicate. She explained that she just could not find peace amidst the turmoil sharing that mental illness sucks big time. Betty explained that she began to find peace when she realized how much learning and unlearning she had to do.

Betty IraborThe Lifestyle blogger shared that she was tired of self-pity and it was consuming her life and so she embarked on a journey of self-evaluation and self-discovery, made peace with her past, and then forgave everyone including herself.
