Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has issued a 2-month ultimatum to all bandits in the state to either repent and surrender their weapons and accept the peace process or be face serious decisive action from the government. 
Governor Matawalle declared this today March 9, 2021, while addressing journalist at the government house, where noted that the federal government was set to deploy 6,000 troops to the state to help fight against bandits if they refused to surrender within the stipulated time.

The Governor who was very authoritative in his speech said assertively that the state would all bandits in the state to put a stop to its activities and accept the peace process or the full force of the state will rain down on recalcitrant bandits.

“I have given you up to two months to surrender your weapons and also repent and any bandit that refused to accept the peace process would be fought by the government,” he said.
He called on the local government Sole Administrators and the traditional rulers to monitor their respective areas and report to the government if there were any attacks so that the government could take action.
