Barcelona Midfielder Arthur Melo Set To Join Serie A Giants Juventus

La Liga Champions Barcelona have agreed a deal to sell Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo to Serie A defending champions Juventus. Arthur Melo

The deal set to cost the Serie A table-toppers a whopping £66m, including bonuses that could add up to as much as £10m, the Catalan giants confirmed the news on Monday June 29, on it official website.

According to the deal, Bosinian & Herzgovina midfielder Miralem Pjanic is set move the other way to Barcelona, but both players have been obligated to finish there 2019-2020 season at their current clubs.

“FC Barcelona and Juventus FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Arthur Melo. The Italian club will pay €72 million, plus €10 million in variables,” the club confirmed in a statement published on Monday.
“The player will stay at FC Barcelona until the end of the official competitions of the 2019-20 season.”

Despite the transfer, Barcelona coach Quique Setien added Arthur Melo in the squad to face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

“I have no doubt about his greatest commitment until the last day he is here,” the head coach told reporters
“He is a player until the last game of the season. He has committed himself to being one more [member of the squad].
“He will dedicate himself fully to achieving the objectives. I have no doubts about him.
“He has said that he will be in the best conditions. I’ll decide if he plays more or less.”
