Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who recently called the coronavirus pandemic a “fantasy,” has tested positive for the illness, according to reports.
Brazil’s hard-Right president Jair Bolsonaro said he has tested negative for the coronavirus, despite media reports to the contrary.
On his official Facebook and Twitter pages, Bolsonaro announced that his exams came back negative, accompanied by a photo of the president making an offensive gesture.
Mr Bolsonaro was instructed to take the test after his press secretary Fabio Wajngarten tested positive for the virus on Thursday. Mr Wajngarten had recently accompanied the president on an official trip to the United States, where Brazil’s head of state met with Donald Trump and US vice president Mike Pence.Photo Credit: Getty
