Africa Has Recorded 17 Coronavirus Deaths – WHO

According to the WHO (World Health Organisation) Africa has recorded 17 deaths since the outbreak of the virus. The organisation made the revelation via their twitter page today and encouraged everyone to stay safe and maintain healthy practices.

Though Africa was among the last continent to confirm the virus, 633 confirmed cases of coronavirus has been recorded in 33 countries across the continent.  In the last 24 hours, Gambia, Mauritius and Zambia announced their first cases of coronavirus. The deaths recorded in the continent were in Algeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Morocco and Sudan.

A tweet by the World Health Organization, Africa region reads;  633 confirmed #COVID19 cases in #Africa in 33 countries and 17 deaths. In past 24 hrs, The Gambia, Mauritius & Zambia have announced first cases. @WHO  is supporting countries with surveillance, diagnostics & treatment.
