Gov Adeleke Vows Not To Stop Establishment Of Ilesa University

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun declared in Osogbo on Friday that he wasn’t stopping the establishment of the University of Ilesa.

The university was established by his precursor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola on March 31, 2022, when he upgraded the state’s College of Education, Ilesa, to a full-fledged university.

Oyetola backed the establishment of the university with a law made on Sept. 27, 2022. examining the point of the university, Adeleke said the institution had come to stay and that his administration would soon release details of its plans for it.

“ I’m then to assess the factual state of the University of Ilesa and rub minds with our people on moving Ijeshaland forward. “ My thing is to insure that the university is duly established just as the PDP government of former gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola did on the establishment of Osun State University. “ The review commission has submitted its report and I’m issuing a White Paper, ’’ he said.

Adeleke inaugurated an 11-man ad-hoc commission on Jan. 10 to review the establishment of the university. He said the commission would review and assess backing conditions for the eventual take-off of the university.

He said the commission would insure modalities for phased perpetration similar that faculties and courses of study would be matched with backing conditions at each phase. Adeleke also lowered at illegal mining, which had defiled the water body in Ilesa.

He said the government would soon issue a report on strategies to address water and environmental pollution in the area.
