The Nigerian fashion industry is peaking and causing the emergence of several talented fashion designers that have helped to put and keep the Nigerian fashion game on the world fashion reckoning. We’ll be bringing you to the creative side of the fashion industry as we bring to you some of the industry’s finest and also give you the unique fashion styles of 5 high-class Nigerian fashion designers.


5 High Class Nigerian Fashion Designers
First on our list is the beautiful Tolu Bally. The beautiful fashion designer is the founder of the fashion retail brand 2207bytbally. She was born in Nigeria but later moved her life to the UK to complete her studies.

She graduated from the University of East London with a Psychosocial studies degree.

She conceived a passion for business and fashion while she was in the UK and this inspired her to start selling clothes from the booth of her car. She had always had a strong fashion sense which made her an unofficial stylist for family and friends. She wanted to build a legacy that would be passed on and she knew she had to focus on something she loved doing and this was fashion.

She founded the women’s fashion retailer known for its signature bold approach to colours, form-fitting tailored pieces, simple and yet classy fashion 2207bytbally in November 2016. The designs are youthful, colourful and versatile, making the outfits wearable for women with a busy and active lifestyle.

The outfits are tailored by a family of designers with years of experience in designing and tailoring for women. 2207byTBally fitted outfit is for the everyday woman, who takes pride in her appearance, and values her stylistic expression; all designs are put together with her in mind.


Next on our list is the delectable Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Founder of the  E.A.T brand. She is called ‘ The Madame’ following her masterpiece collection at the Native and Vogue Port Harcourt fashion week and Dakar fashion week and Kenya fashion week respectively.

The E.A.T brand is known for servicing the fashion needs of the modern woman has been on the scene since 2010.


Also on our list is the ultra-chic Lisa Folawiyo of the fashion brand Jewel by Lisa. The fashion designer is known for infusing African prints into her designs and causing the African prints to get more recognition. Her designs are also known for having modern tailoring techniques with an emphasis on beading and sequin trim.


Lanre Da Silva Ajayi is no newcomer to the fashion industry, having been on the playing field since 2005. She has since created a name for herself at the high end of the Nigerian fashion industry.

Lanre Da Silva’s collections often incorporate metallic fabrics, lace and African patterns, while referencing the 1940s or 1800s. The fashion designers brand, LDA, includes couture, ready-to-wear, jewellery and hairpieces.


The man on the list, Mai Atafo is a Nigerian fashion designer born in Ile-Ife, Osun state. He trained in the Leeds based Saville Row Academy as a tailor and as since established a name for himself in the Nigerian fashion industry.

His brand ATAFO ( former MAI ATAFO/MAI ATAFO INSPIRED) is known for its speciality of producing sleek and suave Suits, Bridals, Tuxedos and Traditionals. His designs have been worn by many celebrities amongst which is Ebuka Obi Uchendu.
