Amina Mohammed is Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group.

Prior to her UN appointment, Ms. Mohammed served as Minister of Environment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where she steered the country’s efforts on climate action and efforts to protect the natural environment.

Nyekachi Douglas born on 28 May 1998, is a Nigerian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and became Miss World Africa. Nyekachi was born in Ibaa, Emohua LGA, Rivers State, attended Charles Dale Memorial International School, Port Harcourt, and migrated to the United States for much of her teenage life, There, she studied Public Health at the University of South Florida and relocated back to Nigeria to reunite with her family.

In October 2019 at the age of 21, Nyekachi represented her home State, Rivers, and was crowned winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria at a ceremony held at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Bayelsa. In December the same year, she reached the top five at Miss World – losing out to Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh – and gained the title Miss World Africa. This was a great feat as she was the first Nigerian to reach this level since 2004. Nyekachi was the Nigerian contestant who showed a genuine and elated response to the victory of Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh during Miss World. She is also a fan of sports and dabbles in a bit of football and track. During the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition, she and her fellow 37 competitors trained by playing football.
