20-year-old Abdulrahman Safau Omowumi, a student of Bathelomew College of Health Technology, Shao, Kwara State is the latest victim of rape and murder as she was reportedly raped and macheted to death at Gerewu, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The young lady had according to a family member left her uncle’s home where she lived temporarily to undergo her internship programme at ABEBI Hospital on Saturday 27th June but did not return home.
The family reported her disappearance to the police and her corpse was said to be found beside a river at Oko-ọba, Gerewu, on Sunday, with matchete cuts on her head and suspicions of rape. The body was then reportedly deposited at the Ilorin General Hospital morgue before she was finally buried at the Muslim cemetery on Thursday 2nd of July, 2020
