#EndSARSmemorial:10 Celebrities That Were At The Forefront Of The Endsars Protest

It’s been a year since the Nationwide EndSARS protest where youths across Nigeria gathered across the country to demand an end to police brutality, profiling of citizens by the police, and also better governance. Nigerians in their mass took to the street to make their demands known to the government loud and clear.

Today we celebrate the one-year memorial of this day as we pay tribute to the many lives lost during the protest and we also acknowledge the celebrities who used their voice, status, and influence to join and raise awareness for the campaign against police brutality. These celebrities risked their lives, endorsements and chose to be strong citizens of their country demanding an end to bad governance. These are the top ten celebrities who were at the forefront of the movement.
1. Falz
Rapper and actor Folarin Falana was a strong voice during the EndSARS campaign and even a year after the campaign he is still a very present face in the demand for better leadership. He has been seen as the leader of the movement, granting interviews and leading several protests.
2. Mr. Macaroni
Online comedian Mr. Macaroni is also one of the strong voices of the EndSARS protest. The Popular Instagram sensation led many other celebrities to front the all-night #EndSARSProtest at the Lagos State Government House in Alausa, on Thursday 8th, 2020. The comedian was assaulted by the police but it didn’t deter him from demanding an end to police brutality and making his voice known.
3. Davido
Multi-award-winning singer Davido was a strong voice during the protest as well using his platform as a tool and also joined the Abuja protest demanding better governance with other citizens. One of the iconic photos from the protest is the picture of the singer kneeling with his hands on his head at the protest ground. He met with the speaker of the house of Rep, IGP, and tabled the demands of the citizen about EndSARS.
4. Wizkid
The singer called out the government several times during the protest via his social media page demanding an End to police brutality. He shared his personal experience with the men of the force and joined the protest in London calling on the government to do better.
5. Tacha
BBNaija star Tacha certainly displayed a high level of courage during the EndSARS protest as she called out the government demanding accountability, better leadership, electricity, etc. She joined the protest in Lagos and also led a protest in Port Harcourt her state of origin.

6. DJ Switch
Many describe her as a national hero for her role during the EndSARS protest as she was on Instagram live capturing the event on the day of the Lekki Massacre. She also helped victims who sustained injuries during the protest.
7. Tiwa Savage
Singer Tiwa Savage is one of the many celebrities who joined the EndSARS protest. She joined several Nigerians as she took to the street to demand an end to police brutality. She also used her social media platform and heavy following as a tool calling on international celebrities and notable organizations to join in the fight.
8. Vector
Rapper Vector was a strong voice during the protest detailing his experience in the hands of the force. He joined several protests across the country and also led boys in his area during the protest.
9. Runtown
Singer Runtown used his platform, talent, and role as a Public figure to demand an end to police brutality. He led several protests with his colleagues on the protest ground and also provided food and other aids for protesters.
10 Rude Boy
Singer Paul Okoye was very active in the fight against police brutality. He also took a further step by joining the mass protest on the street. He called on the government to address the demands of the people.
