Nnamani, in a statement in Abuja, however expressed appreciation to his constituents for the unalloyed support over the years.

The senator who conceded defeat, said he has consulted with his associates and constituents and decided to quit the PDP on account of irreconcilable differences with the national leadership of the party.

The PDP had earlier expelled Nnamani over alleged anti-party activities and said the party had withdrawn from contesting the Enugu East Senatorial District election.
