Fifa has officially declared that VAR will be used in Premier League from next season. VAR was in use both in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in recent times, It was reported 20 Premier League clubs have accepted the introduction of the Video Assisted Referee (VAR) from the beginning of 2019-20 football campaign. 
The successful implementation of the VAR at the summer World Cup in Russia contributed in its approval in the English top flight from next season. but with the latest development, the EPL will now join other top leagues across Europe that have welcomed the use of technology.
According to The Mirror: The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) who are looking to improve the quality of pivotal decisions made during Premier League matches, will apply the VAR for 15 games in the 2018/2019 season. According to reports from Sky, the first game that will be under the watchful eyes of the VAR will on September 15 and the match is expected to start from 5 pm (EAT)
