Over 90,000 Nigerians have tweeted about “#LazyNigerianYouths” following President Muhammadu Buhari’s comment at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting {CHOGM}.
The President labelled Nigerian youths “uneducated and lazy,” during an executive session at the biennial summit meeting of heads of government from all Commonwealth nations at Lancaster House, London.
Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmed in his response to angry Nigerians, explained that the president was referring to those who “haven’t been to school, sitting at home doing nothing and expecting to be given everything for free,” because they feel that Nigeria is an oil producing nation.
Grab a seat, and maybe pop corn as we present a timeline of the good and controversial tweets on “#LazyNigerianYouths.”

President Buhari has a cabinet of 36 ministers and not one of them is a youth. The median age of his ministers is 54 while the median age of Nigeria’s population is 17.9 years. His cabinet is not representative of Nigeria. That is why he thinks our youths are lazy and uneducated.
