Kanye West’s Call For Masters Can’t Work – Godwin Tom

Music executive and talents manager Godwin Tom has slightly shaded American rapper Kanye West for his recent outburst on the masters of his music.
Kanye West had gone wild on Twitter as he called for the end of enslaving music deals, slamming and threatening Universal Music Group and other music labels for not wanting him to buy off his masters. The 21-time Grammy Award winner went ahead to pee on one of his Grammy awards amidst the fight.
Speaking in an exclusive IG Live session with Laurence and Adenike of KOKO TV on Tuesday, Godwin Tom, the CEO, IManage Africa noted that masters ownership should be fair on both the artiste and investors as the latter would want to exploit from where he has invested.

“The ownership of the masters should be fair, I can’t say it belongs to one party. What Kanye West is calling for can’t work for all artists because an investor who has invested in a particular artist would want to make profits and exploit such art created by the artist for as long as they’ve reaped the benefits of their investment”, he said.
