17 corps members deployed to Edo State have shown symptoms of COVID-19 and have been admitted to the Stella Obasanjo Hospital in the state for treatment, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Osagie Ebomwonyi, has disclosed. He stated that even though the cases were unvaccinated, they were undertaking studies and analyses to find out if there was a Delta variant in the state.
A personal assistant to the state coordinator of the youth scheme, Mr. Ozeto Waheed, said the 17 corps members serving in the state were currently receiving treatment, noting that they were mobilized to serve in the state. Governor Obaseki, shared the state government’s readiness to deal effectively with the Delta variant of coronavirus, noting that there had been no confirmed case of the deadly variant of the virus in the state.
