Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo has reacted to Ekiti election crisis.
Dankwambo who disclosed he had a phone conversation with Governor Ayodele Fayose described Wednesday’s incidents as shameful and undemocratic. “Just got off the phone with my brother, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State. He has briefed me of the ongoing harassment by security operatives. What is happening in Ekiti state is shameful and undemocratic,” he tweeted.
Fayose had escaped a plot to assassinate him by APC candidate Fayemi and the governor received treatment at the Government House clinic before appeared at the PDP rally at Fajuyi, after he was hit by a teargas canister fired by the policemen, said Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media. The 2018 Ekiti governorship candidate will hold in the stage on Saturday, July 14, and about 30,000 police officials have been deployed to ensure security before, during, and after the polling.
