The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that 298 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Nigeria on Sunday, August 16.
According to the NCDC Plateau-108 new cases, Kaduna-49, Lagos-47 new cases, Ogun – 18, Osun – 17, FCT – 15, Ondo – 14, Edo – eight, Oyo – six, Akwa Ibom –4, Cross River –4, Borno –3, Ekiti –2, while Bauchi-1 Kano-1, and Rivers-1.
Nigeria now has 49,068 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 36,497 patients have been discharged so far with 975 deaths recorded.
