I Expected Certain People To Reject National Honours From Buhari – Seun Kuti
Controversial Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti, has called out personalities who made the list of recipients of the 2023 national awards.

Some of the people who were conferred with Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) include; Davido, Kunle Afolayan, Victor Osimhen, Terry Waya and over 300 other notable Nigerians.

The announcement was made on Sunday, May 28 by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Speaking on the national honours, Seun Kuti insinuated that half of the celebrities and personalities who criticised ex-President Muhammadu Buhari were being hypocritical by accepting the award.

He openly asked if any them would do the unthinkable and reject the national honours based on principle.

The singer said; “Half of the people criticizing this government as the worst thing ever deh go collect award for abuja from the same government? No one will reject it on principle? Or Buhari don legit? Make una just tell me o. I dey ask for one presidential candidate.”
He added; “Next 3 1/2 years now we start the same dance again. What do you stand for? #Mafo!! #standwellwell.”
