President Buhari has received the booster jab for the covid-19 Vaccine earlier today by his personal physician, Dr. Suhayb Rafndadi, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The president’s media aide Bashir Ahmaad shared a photo of the president receiving the jab and noted that the president assures Nigerians of the safety and effectiveness of the booster shot.
The Executive Secretary Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, spoke to State House Correspondents soon after the President took his jab, saying the President has again demonstrated leadership by taking the booster jab.

Recall that earlier in the month the federal government approved the giving of COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for Nigerians who are fully vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine booster shots give greater protection against the virus and urge all Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Dr. Faisal Shuaib said the eligibility criteria for taking the booster dose are; Any person 18 years and above, time interval of 6 months or more after receiving the second dose of AstraZeneca, Moderna, or Pfizer Bio-N-Tech, and time interval of 2 months or more after receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
