The Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi has on Monday been sworn-in alongside his deputy, Aminu Usman Gumel.
The oath of office was administered by the state chief Judge, Justice Umar Sadiq Maigari held at Aminu Kano Triangle, Dutse, the state capital.
Malam Umar Namadi of APC won the governorship election after he scored 618,449 of the total votes cast to defeat his opponent Mustapha Sule Lamido of the PDP who polled 368,726 votes.

In his inauguration speech after taking an oath of office, Governor Umar Namadi promised to continue to build on Badaru’s legacies.
“We will continue to build a strong economy, create jobs, expand access to quality education and enhance healthcare services in the state”
“We will make investments in critical infrastructure to facilitate travel and commerce across the state”
