Tottenham have reportedly agreed a fee in excess of £60m for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez but finalising a deal is unlikely to be straightforward.
According to reports, Martinez would play alongside England captain Harry Kane with new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo keen on deploying a front two this season
Spurs are adamant that Kane is not for sale, despite his attempts to force a move away amid interest from Manchester City this summer.

However, that fee was agreed before a deal between Chelsea and Inter for Romelu Lukaku reached an advanced stage and there are significant doubts as to whether the Italians will let both of their star strikers leave.
If Spurs are able to broker a deal, Martinez would become the club’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Atalanta centre back Cristian Romero, Spanish winger Bryan Gil from Sevilla and goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, who also arrived from Atalanta.

Arsenal have also shown interest in Martinez, eyed as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette who has little over a year left on his current contract.
The Gunners have also been monitoring Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, who would cost around £50.8m, as well as Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham who is seen as surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Martinez helped Inter win the Serie A title last season and has drawn praise from his Argentian team mate Lionel Messi who described him as ’spectacular.’ He was was part of the Argentina squad who lifted the Copa America this summer, scoring three times in the competition.
Inter are having to sell some of their key assets this summer amid their financial struggles. Lukaku is expected to join Chelsea later in the coming days, while right-back Achraf Hakimi competed a £60m move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the window.
