TBT: Remembering ‘Rattlesnake’, Nollywood’s First Action Movie

We must first off appreciate Nollywood and give them a pat on the back, they’ve come from the days of writing lines like “keep being the bad girl you are” to giving us beautiful works like King of Boys and others worthy of making it big in the International space.

NollywoodThere is however a beginning stage, a genesis for every great story and if you have not seen the movie written about here,it just means that you’ve missed a whole lot of what Nollywood looked like back in the day.

Rattlesnake was produced in 1994 an although the movie quality was not excellent, the storyline was beautiful and the narrative was well written.

The action movie starred Francis Duru, the main character who was torn in between honoring his dying father’s wish to engage in one last armed robbery operation or pandering to the plea of his girlfriend to abstain from crime.

The movie featured veteran names in the industry including Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Julius Agwu, Francis Duru, Nkem Owoh and others.
