No Helicopter Was Shot Down Nor Crashed In Borno – Nigerian Airforce

The Nigerian Airforce debunks reports from earlier today which made rounds online claiming that the terrorist group Boko Haram had shot down a helicopter in Banki, a community in Borno State resulting 5 persons on the aircraft dying.

This news has now being debunked has fake news on the microblogging App by the Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola stating that the story is untrue. Nigerian Airforce

Also, the rumour which was started by the Daily Trust national newspaper was further debunked by the President’s aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmed who classified the story as yet another “FAKE News”, while calling on the media outlet to do better and play its role in helping the country to defeat terrorism.
