In a bid to bolster his chances in the 2023 presidential election, Nigerians in the Diaspora have formed groups of committees to launch crowdfunding initiatives for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi
They plan to unveil in the coming days a crowdfunding portal with a target to raise $150 million from Obi’s supporters in the diaspora and N100 billion from those in Nigeria.

Sources within the Obi camp explained that the funds will be generated from individuals from all walks of life, who believe in the manifesto of Peter Obi. Nigerians in diaspora, especially established professionals in the health and tech industry will be leading the charge from abroad.

Peter Obi is already gathering momentum both online and offline, especially with the younger generation. The youths have been holding rallies for the presidential candidate throughout the country, even though the main campaign is yet to commence.
The campaign will officially kick-off on September 28, 2022, while the presidential election will take place on February 25, 2023.
