The General Manager of Public Affairs, Sam Adurogboye disclosed this in Lagos on Friday.

200 Nigerians were aboard the flight that had 15 passengers destined for Malabo. The Lufthansa flight arrived at 2:00am on March 4th, 2023 instead of earlier slated March 3rd, 2023 at 5:45pm before flying to Malabo.

The pilot told passengers that the diversion was due to the closure of the Lagos airport.

Adurogboye said, the agency was curious about the development and seeks to investigate the decision to fly to Malabo first.

He clarified that no passenger had come forward to lodge any complaints but insisted that its necessary to seek the reason for the last minute decision.

“We only became aware of the incident yesterday (Thursday) and we have begun an investigation,” he said.

“We would like to know when, where, and why the passengers got such treatment and be sure of the steps to take.
