My Impeachment Was Unconstitutional, Null And Void – Oluomo Says He Remains Ogun Speaker

The crisis unfolding in the Ogun State Assembly escalated on Friday night as the impeached Speaker, Hon. Kunle Oluomo, asserted that he still holds the position of Speaker.


Oluomo representing Ifo State Constituency 1 was sacked from office on Tuesday by 18 lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct with Hon. Oludaisi Elemide elected to replace him.

However, Oluomo broke his silence on the impeachment saga, declaring action of the 18 lawmakers “unconstitutional, null, void and of no effect whatsoever.”

The embattled Oluomo, who addressed reporters in his Legislative Quarters residence, Ibara GRA Abeokuta on Friday, informed he has approached the court for adjudication on the matter.
